How geofencing works in Boss Outside
Each project defines a site coordinate and a geofence radius (default 200 m). When a contractor starts a daily report:
- The device captures GPS coordinates.
- The app evaluates distance from the site pin.
- Check-ins outside the geofence are flagged for review.
- Mock-location detection adds another layer of integrity.
What gets flagged — and what does not
A flagged check-in is not an automatic rejection. It is a signal for the reviewer to look closer — same as a quantity that exceeds plan or a missing photo.
This keeps the field flow fast while giving the office the controls they need.
Privacy and proportionality
Location is collected for operational verification during report submission, not continuous tracking. Contractors know when check-in happens and administrators see the result in the review queue.
